Rock City opened in 1980 and has traded successfully for nearly 24 years.

As a 2000 capacity nightclub it has explored many of the fringe music areas, Rock Alternative in particular and has been awarded the KERRANG! Club of the year award 11 times as well as being nominated twice for an NME BRAT award. It has also recently been awarded the BBC Radio 1 Lock Up, Best venue award.

Rock City has also traded a phenomenally successful 80’s night, Love Shack.

As a live entertainment venue, Rock City has hosted most of the biggest acts to have travelled the world in the last 24 years – U2, REM, INXS, THE CURE, OASIS, BLUR, DAVID BOWIE (1997) and 2002 was host to BBC RADIO 1’s ONE LIVE festival which sees a huge array of today’s biggest acts including DOVES, DJ SHADOW AND THE STREETS.

This past year has been no different with Rock City playing host to high profile bands such as LINKIN PARK and THE DEFTONES.
